Tarneit motorcyclist charged after drug bust

A 26-year-old Tarneit motorcyclist will front court in July after police caught him with drugs during an early-morning intercept in Caroline Springs.

Police spotted a blue Yamaha bike on Caroline Springs Boulevard as it pulled into a convenience store carpark about 12.15am today, and followed the rider into the store.

Police found the man, who was a disqualified rider, to be in possession of an alleged quantity of drugs.

He was arrested and has been charged with drug and traffic-related offences and was bailed to appear at Sunshine Magistrates Court on July 30.

The bike, which he had borrowed from a friend, was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $878.50.
