Police were called to an address in Rose Street, Essendon about 7.30pm after reports that a 25-year-old man was assaulted and robbed by five males.
It is alleged the group arrived at the premises in a stolen Subaru Impreza, which was later spotted by police on Mount Alexander Road.
The car was abandoned on Riverside Avenue, Keilor, where the group fled on foot.
A teen was arrested by officers after a brief foot pursuit by officers.
The Dog Squad was called in and long-haired German shepherd Rocky unleashed, helping to arrest four of the teens.
A 16-year-old from Dallas and 17-year-old from Broadmeadows have been charged with theft of motor vehicle, assault, theft and other related offences and have been remanded to appear at a children’s court.
A 16-year-old and 17-year-old from Broadmeadows, also charged with theft of motor vehicle, assault, theft and other related offences, have been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
An 18-year-old Broadmeadows man has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, assault, theft and other related offences and was bailed to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates Court on May 20.
