Six people have been charged with a range of drug offences following the execution of warrants across Brimbank and Melton.
Police last week seized almost 600 cannabis plants and 10 kilograms of dried cannabis after searching nine properties in St Albans, Deer Park, Kings Park, Albion, Melton and Kurunjang. Following the arrests, a 68-year-old Kings Park man was charged with possessing a commercial quantity of cannabis.
A 33-year-old Deer Park woman, a 24-year-old St Albans man and a 39-year-old Melton man were all charged with cultivating narcotic plants and trafficking a drug of dependence. They were all released on bail.
A 29-year-old Kurunjang man was charged with cultivating narcotic plants and released on bail.
A 22-year-old Eynesbury man was released with charges pending.
The operation searches resulted in the seizure of 583 plants and 10 kilograms of dried cannabis, as well as cultivation equipment.
