Sunshine North: Ice haul worth $500,000 seized by police

Police seized half a million dollars worth of the drug ice as well as cannabis, weapons and cash after raids on two houses in Sunshine North.

Two people were arrested after a warrant was executed at a property on Northumberland Road in Sunshine North about 9.20am on Wednesday. 

Brimbank Divisional Response Unit found 1.4 kilograms of ice, a Taser gun, capsicum spray and about $10,000 in cash.

A 49-year-old man and 29-year-old woman, both from Sunshine North, are in custody and are assisting police with their inquiries.

During a second raid on a house in Glengala Road, Sunshine West, police said three kilograms of cannabis was seized.

A 29-year-old man from Sunshine West has also been arrested and charged with trafficking cannabis and possessing proceeds of crime.

He was bailed to appear in Sunshine Magistrates Court on June 1.
