Homicide Squad detectives are appealing for public help to locate Jonathan Dick following an assault in Keilor this morning.
Investigators have been told a 38-year-old man was assaulted with a hammer in a residential driveway on Church Street just before 7am.
The victim sustained a minor laceration to the back of his head and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A woman and children were present inside the house during the incident and were unharmed.
The offender was last seen fleeing southbound on foot along Green Gully Road, passing over Meehan Court.
The victim of the assault is an associate of Jonathan Dick and has provided information to police that Dick is responsible for this morning’s attack.
The 40-year-old is also wanted in relation to the murder of his brother David in Doncaster on February 3, 2017.
Detectives have re-released images of Jonathan Dick in the hope someone can provide information regarding his whereabouts.
These images are believed to be consistent with his current appearance.
He is described as being perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 30s, about 176cm tall with a solid build and mousy brown hair.
He was last seen wearing a red long-sleeved hooded top with white writing on the back and blue jeans.
Detectives from the Fugitive Taskforce and a number of other units are currently in the Keilor area searching for Jonathan Dick.
Police are urging members of the public to keep a look out for him.
