A Sunshine West business that will be celebrated as part of this month’s Victorian Small Business Festival is encouraging others to take the plunge with their own businesses.
Kate Forsyth and Dave Bunting have been running Good Day Rentals for nearly four years, but it was a trip to the festival in 2016 that inspired them to fully commit to it.
“The Small Business Festival gave me the confidence to not just lean in, but to run full pelt at my niche,” Ms Forsyth said.
“The presenter was standing there telling us, ‘Find a way to be you, whatever you do, be you’. It really had an effect on me.”
They began their event hire, design and styling business with furniture from their own wedding in 2013, and eventually both left their corporate jobs to run the business.
Good Day Rentals has been selected by Small Business Victoria to be highlighted and celebrated as one of Victoria’s Small Business Festival champions.
“The festival allows small businesses with smaller budgets to go and meet with like-minded people and access services,” Ms Forsyth said.
