Five teens arrested with stolen car

Police have arrested five teenagers after they were found changing the tyre of an allegedly stolen car overnight on Saturday.

The car, which was stolen from an address in Braybrook on July 14, was spotted by police in a laneway near Gatehouse Street, Parkville, about 4am.

An 18-year-old Melton man was charged with handling stolen goods after a Victorian driver’s licence and a mobile phone were allegedly found in a bag he was carrying. He will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later today.

A 17-year-old Taylors Hill boy has been charged with theft of motor car and will be remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date. Another Taylors Hill boy, 17,  was released pending further inquiries.

A 15-year-Melton boy has been charged with robbery in an unrelated incident and will be remanded to a children’s court at a later date. A 15-year-old Melton boy was cautioned in relation to a weapon offence.
