Business Matters: Soccer fever hits Deer Park Club

Every FIFA World Cup game live – that’s what The Deer Park Club is committed to delivering as it gleefully embraces soccer fever.

The club will be open 24/7 until the final, on July 16, so everyone can watch the action live from Russia, day and night!

Club general manager David Thompson says that in a nod to the Socceroos, hot Aussie party pies will be free and readily available in the sports lounge during every Australian game.

“The sports bar will be a lot of fun during the World Cup,” David says. “We’ve just installed a brand new super screen in the sports bar, as well as a five-metre wide screen in the courtyard area. Come down and have a bite and grab a pot.”

The Deer Park Club will have all hands on deck to make sure it’s the best place in Melbourne to watch the tournament, with award-winning renovations and new menu enhancing the atmosphere.

“During Bistro hours, grab the slow-cooked lamb shanks or the double deluxe burger and a pot of draught while you watch the game, is my tip,” David says.

“Other new additions to the menu include linguine marinara, sizzling garlic and chilli prawns, chilli mussels and bangers and mash.

“We’ve got a really large soccer contingent here and we wanted to give our patrons what they want.

“Soccer fever has hit! It’s been great seeing our patrons get excited leading up to the World Cup, all in the knowledge no matter what time, day or night, they can swing by and watch live.

“We were just awarded Community Clubs Victoria’s award for Best Club Renovation. We were finalists for Best Club Entertainment, as well – a great pat on the back.”
