A group of Brimbank barbecuers are putting on a feast for those doing it tough.
Scott Webb, Ben Gray and Travis Gray are teaming up with the Salvation Army in Sunshine to feed members of the community at the local soup kitchen on Friday, June 29.
Mr Webb said the team plans to put on a massive meal.
“Keilor Continental Butchers have agreed to supply the meat, which is an amazing effort because we’re catering for around 100 people,” he said.
“We’re going to have a brisket, pulled lamb sliders and vortex chicken wings.”
Mr Webb said turning their barbecue passion into something that helps the community was an obvious move.
“We spend a lot of time cooking and practising because we’re looking to become competitive barbecuers,” he said.
“We thought we could actually put it to a good cause.
“We really want to keep this going and do cooks in some other areas. We’re hoping to do one in Wyndham, Ballarat and another somewhere else before the end of the year.
