Keilor on fire in crushing win

Keilor earned a significant percentage boost in a thumping win over Glenroy in Essendon District Football League premier division at Sewell Reserve on Saturday.

The Blues are jostling for a spot in the bottom half of the top four, so percentage could be crucial come season’s end.

A dominating Blues side crushed Glenroy by 125 points, improving their percentage from 124.95 per cent at the start of the round to 146.86 per cent.

It was all one-way traffic as Keilor compiled 48 scoring shots.

Dean Galea had another day out for the Blues with six goals, taking his season tally to 32 in seven games. Michael James booted four, while James Bailey and Kieran Bell chimed in with three apiece.

Kane Barbuto continued his stellar season for the Blues with a second best-on-ground in three weeks.

Keilor can expect a tougher test when second-placed Greenvale arrives at Keilor Reserve on Saturday.

In division 1, Hillside scored their fourth win of the season in a nail-biter by three points over East Keilor at Hillside Reserve.

The Sharks fought back from a 24-point half-time deficit to win on the back of three goals to Brandon Coletta and a stellar showing by Julian Hemala.

Hillside has a chance to make it back-to-back wins when it travels to bottom side Jacana on Saturday.
