Council launches reporting service

A new feature on the Brimbank council website will make it easier for community members to report issues and make service requests.

The new tool, Report It, allows residents to lodge requests on issues ranging from abandoned vehicles and broken street lights to problems with bins.

Reports are sent to the council’s customer request system and allocated to the relevant departments for action.

Upon lodging a request, users are required to leave their contact details, which are used to inform them on the progress of their request via text message or email.

Once users have submitted a request, they will also be asked to provide feedback on the service so the council can continue to refine and enhance its functionality.

Each year, the council receives more than 55,000 service requests, mostly via telephone.

The new feature is designed to simplify the process by giving the community 24/7 access to the council.

The council undertook user acceptance testing as part of the development of the tool, which was met with positive reviews.
