Police investigate violent home invasion

Update:

Police are investigating whether this morning’s aggravated burglary is linked to an armed robbery at a McDonald’s in Essendon.

It is believed five males entered the store on Keilor Road just before 5am this morning, smashing windows and computers with garden stakes.

A mobile phone, cash and a staff member’s debit card were stolen.

The offenders fled the scene in what is described as a small blue sedan.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police are investigating whether the vehicle is the blue 2010 Honda Civic (registration plates XRD-495)  stolen in the Taylors Hill incident.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
