For 26-year-old artist Daniela Araos (pictured), her first art exhibition is the culmination of years of hard work.
The exhibition, Drawn with Love, showcases her photo realism portraits of some of the most recognisable faces in the world.
“I really aim to capture what people are thinking, to capture their soul in each piece,” Araos said.
“My inspiration always changes, but at this exhibition, I’m showcasing my portraits of Amy Winehouse, Angus Young, Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga.”
Araos said part of the aim of the exhibition was to get her talent to a wider audience.
“I’ve been dreaming about something like this since I was a kid scribbling on walls,” she said. “I’m hoping this will allow me to build a bigger network.”
Araos began to realise her talent from a very young age.
“When I was in primary school I’d draw a lot, usually my idols or cartoons,” she said. “I realised what I was drawing looked pretty realistic … I felt like I might have something.”
The exhibition offers a wide range of portrait subjects, but Araos said one piece stood out.
“I’m really proud of the Amy Winehouse piece – I’ve made it the centrepiece of the exhibition,” she said.
Drawn with Love will run until Wednesday, February 7, at the Sunshine Art Spaces.
