Child exploitation charges
A 52-year-old Werribee man has been charged with child exploitation offences. Victorian Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team officers executed a search warrant in Werribee on December 21. The man appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on December 22 and was bailed to re-appear in April.
Werribee play among the gongs
A comedy drama written by Werribee playwright Alaine Beek has won three awards in the National Playwright Competition for One Act Plays. The show, The Scrunch Test, received the people’s choice for Best Written Script and people’s choice for Best Performed Play, after being performed in East Malvern alongside the contest’s two other finalists. West Footscray actor Ross Daniels, who starred in The Scrunch Test, won Best Male Actor.
Truganina burglary attempt
Police are searching for a man who allegedly attempted to burgle a Truganina house on August 23 last year. About 9.20am, the man attempted to gain entry to a Clovelly Circuit house. Police said they hope to speak with a man they describe as African in appearance, aged in his mid-20s, of slim build, about 187 centimetres tall, with a blonde mohawk.
