Get your hockey on.

The Caroline Springs Hockey Club, with the support of Melton City Council, is holding two free hockey classes for children, on January 10 and 11.

Caroline Springs Hockey Club president Kathy Jungfer said: “We are aware of the need for a program for children during the school holidays in the city of Melton.

“We recognise the appetite for sport and activities in our community, there is a growing need for access to fun sporting opportunities for all.”

The two-day clinic will teach children how to hold a hockey stick, dribble a ball, score a goal and play mini hockey games.

“They will also take part in a variety of different sports, such as Ultimate Frisbee, tennis, cricket and European handball,” Jungfer said. “They will be able to learn different skills for each sport and use these skills in mini games and fun competitions on each day.”

The event will be held at Brookside Recreation Reserve and will include a free healthy lunch and snacks.
