A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a stab wound following an argument in a Sunshine carpark on Monday night.
Detective Senior Constable Scott Sheedy said the boy is believed to have been stabbed with a small knife about 5.45pm during an argument between three males who were known to each other.
Police said the victim made his way from Clarke Street to Devonshire Road, while the offenders fled towards the Sunshine railway station.
The victim later attended hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Detective Senior Constable Sheedy said the victim is not co-operating with police.
“We’ve released images of the men we’re looking to speak with and urge any witnesses to come forward,” he said.
Detective Senior Constable Sheedy said an axe found in a nearby laneway today is undergoing forensic testing to determine whether it was dropped by one of the offenders.
