Point Cook pop-up

Point Cook is getting a taste of what its pop-up park could look like. The Point Cook Action Group is joining with Stockland Point Cook, Wyndham council and Co Design Studio to create a trial pop-up park at Point Cook Town Centre. This Saturday the team will showcase their effort in the market square area from 11am-3pm. To get involved in the project, go to www.surveymonkey.com/r/PCPOPUP

Giving spirit

Point Cook and Werribee have been ranked as two of Australia’s top 25 most generous suburbs, according to GoFundMe, the world’s largest social fundraising platform.

Neighbourly safety

Love thy neighbour – or at the very least, get to know them. That’s the message from Wyndham council as it encourages residents to reach out to their neighbours during October as part of Community Safety Month. Safer communities portfolio holder Cr Kim McAliney said knowing your neighbours was a great way to keep your neighbourhood safe. “Studies have shown that stronger, closer communities are a very effective tool when it comes to crime prevention,” she said.
