Art created by Yooralla St Albans Community Hub clients is on public display for the first time.
The work of hub art program participants will be on show at the Sydenham library until next month.
The program has been running for almost a year and provides an opportunity for participants to explore creativity, how to work in small groups, art concepts and how to use these techniques in their work.
Yooralla disability support worker Maya Sollier said participants were excited to share their work with the community.
“People have really responded really well to the incredible and unique works on display,” Ms Sollier said. “Art is a really powerful tool. Art can be very healing and inclusive. It is very broad so participants are not constrained by what they can do. The abilities and interests of all participants are so different, but everyone gets along really well.”
The hub supports adults with disability in gaining life skills, recreational programs, therapy and educational programs.
Entry to the exhibition at the library at 1 Station Street, Sydenham is free. The exhibition closes Friday, August 18.
