Werribee City is on the march in the National Premier League 2 West Vic soccer.

The Bees have shown signs of life over the past month and are hell-bent on climbing out of the bottom two.

A runaway 2-0 win over Whittlesea Ranges at Galvin Park on Sunday was the Bees third victory in four games.

The Bees are now unbeaten in a month of football.

Two second-half goals ensured Werribee City reaped all three points in front of their home fans.

Djordje Aleksic scored the go-ahead goal in the 57th minute, before Domenico Marafioti scored the sealer 17 minutes later.

In-form Bees goalkeeper Tommy Dunn claimed his second clean sheet in three games.

Werribee City will face Nunawading City at Galvin Park on Sunday.

In state league 2 north-west, Hoppers Crossing remains one point clear on top of the ladder after a narrow 2-1 win over Westvale at Grange Reserve on Saturday.

Kwaku Dade put the Reds ahead just after half-time, but Westvale found an equaliser.

It took a wonder goal from Matthew Garbett to secure maximum points for the Reds.

Hoppers Crossing will travel to third-placed Hume United for what promises to be a cracking encounter at Laura Douglas Reserve on Saturday.

In state league 4 west, Point Cook moved up to second after a 2-1 road win over Western Eagles at the Polish Sports and Recreation Complex. The Jets were fuelled by goals from Mark Saric and James Varsamakis.

Truganina Hornets pulled off the shock of the weekend, toppling ladder leader Sebastopol Vikings 2-1 at Arndell Park.

Goals from Senanu Oforikumah and Reece Mamic sealed the upset win for the Hornets.
