Woman assaulted in Hillside aggravated burglary

An aggravated burglary in Hillside this morning has left a woman in hospital with “serious injuries”.

Police are looking for two men believed to have broken into the 55-year-old victim’s Speargrass Drive home about 11am.

The men stole the woman’s phone and car – a champagne coloured VW Passat with licence plate VAK158.

An ambulance spokeswoman said a woman was treated for upper body injuries and taken to the Royal Melbourne hospital in a stable condition.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has seen the car is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
