Teens face burglary charges

Six teenagers have been arrested and charged following a crime spree in the western and northern suburbs last week.

Police will allege the teens were behind attempted aggravated burglaries at properties in St Albans, Caroline Springs, Greensborough and Truganina between 1.20am and 4am on Friday.

Altona North Divisional Response Unit members charged a 19-year-old Taylors Hill man and an 18-year-old Kings Park man with attempted aggravated burglary, attempted burglary, attempted theft and commit indictable offences whilst on bail.

Three 16-year-old boys from Fitzroy, St Albans and the Sunshine area, and a 17-year-old western suburbs boy, were also remanded to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.

In a separate incident, a 24-year-old Hoppers Crossing man has been charged following a series of crashes in Southbank.

The man has been charged with 11 offences, including three counts of failing to stop after an accident, evading police, careless driving, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving while unlicensed, conducting an indictable offence while on bail and retention of stolen goods.

The man was taken to hospital for observation and subsequently released into custody.

No one else was injured in the collisions.
