One person has died and two men have been rushed to hospital after a truck drove over a car in a five vehicle crash in Taylors Lakes this morning.
Emergency services were called to respond to the “serious” crash on the Calder Highway about 6.30am.
A police spokesman said a truck drove over a car, crushing the vehicle and killing the driver. The victim is yet to be formally identified.
The truck driver has been taken to hospital for assessment.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said paramedics assessed eight people at the scene of the collision. “Unfortunately one of those died in the crash,” he said.
Two men have been taken to hospital in a stable condition. One was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital, the other to Sunshine Hospital.
Metro Bus – Due to a traffic incident in Taylors Lakes, routes 421, 460, 462 and 476 are delayed by up to 30 minutes in both directions.

All lanes on the Calder Freeway inbound in Keilor North are closed. The collision has led to the closure of all inbound lanes at Kings Road. The ramp from the Melton Highway to the Calder Freeway has been re-opened.
The VicRoads website advises motorists travelling inbound from Melton or further out to use the Western Freeway and the Western Ring Road instead.
