The victim, who is yet to be identified, died on the way to the hospital.

Police have not revealed the circumstances surrounding the incident but are treating the woman’s death a suspicious.

Homicide squad detectives remain at the scene of the crime this morning.

About 8am police were seen carrying bags of evidence out of the unit, including a brown paper bag labelled “contents of cream and black handbag located o/s front door”.

Police have taped off several properties and a pole next to one of the units is covered in blood.

A towel lay next to the pole but it has since been removed by detectives.
