ALDI Burnside to reveal new store fit out on November 23

The ALDI supermarket at Burnside will reopen this week after closing for eight days for renovations.

The store makeover follows trials of new shop fit-outs in Western Australian and South Australian stores, which have proven highly successful, an ALDI spokeswoman said.

When the store reopens on Wednesday, shoppers can expect to see redesigned shelving, wooden displays for fresh produce and energy-efficient lighting.

Management was keen to reassure customers the investment in a new look wouldn’t mean price hikes.

“While we’re delighted to be introducing these innovations, we want our customers to know they won’t lead to higher prices,” an ALDI Australia spokeswoman said. “ALDI is committed to offering high quality products at unbeatable value, and this will not change.”

The German company plans 25 new stores in Australia every year. There are currently 444 ALDI stores, giving the chain about 8 per cent of the supermarket market.
