Asphalt was the dominant feature of this halfway point between Brimbank council’s new office on Hampshire Road and Sunshine Marketplace – until this month. Now the space has been brought to life, with lawn, mature trees, table tennis tables and bench seats. The council opened the pop-up park on November 10 for residents to enjoy over summer. Mayor John Hedditch, pictured, said since the park opened it has been a popular feature of Hampshire Road. “This vibrant, fun space is attracting a great cross-section … with people taking the opportunity to relax, sit with friends and even enjoy a game of table tennis.” The park will be in place until the end of March, and the council has asked for feedback from residents about which features they would like to see in the park in the future. Feedback can be emailed to info@brimbank.vic.gov.au.
