Cairnlea is still searching for its first win of the state league 1 soccer season after drawing 1-1 against Diamond Valley United on Saturday.
The Reds made a solid start to the match, keeping the second-placed United goalless throughout the first 20 minutes.
But United’s pressure mounted and it found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead.

The Reds worked hard and, through a great piece of play by Baran Karagoz, came up with the equaliser before half-time.
Both teams had chances in the second half but neither could break the other’s defences, and the points were split.
After four rounds, Cairnlea is ninth on the ladder, with two losses and two draws.
The Reds will be looking for their first victory this week against seventh-placed Sydenham Park.
Elsewhere in round four, Altona East Phoenix got the better of Keilor Park, Western Suburbs smashed Sunbury, and Altona Magic defeated Sydenham Park.
It was a tough few days for Green Gully, which was knocked out of the FFA Cup and lost to local rival Melbourne Knights in the National Premier League.
The Cavaliers suffered a premature end to their FFA Cup campaign last Wednesday when they lost to Kingston City, 1-0. Just two days later, Green Gully slipped to ninth on the NPL ladder with another 1-0 loss, this time to the Knights.
