Canary yellow fields dot Victoria as canola crops begins to bloom

The onset of spring saw wild weather sweep across the westerns suburbs, bringing with it flooding and road closures.

But that wasn’t enough to deter Caroline Springs model Cindy Carino, who braved the rain for a photo shoot at a blooming canola farm in Tarneit.

Come spring, canola produces vivid yellow flowers that create the effect of blanketing whole fields in canary yellow.

The crop is grown across Victoria, particularly in the south-west, for its seeds, which are crushed for use in margarine and cooking oil.
