Laverton, Keilor East collisions leave five people in hospital

UPDATE: A woman has been taken to hospital with back and chest injuries after a collision between a truck and four cars at Laverton on Wednesday. 

Paramedics were called to the crash scene, inbound near Aviation Road, at 8.30am.

A woman aged in her 20s was trapped in her car for half an hour.

She has been taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.

Four other people were not injured.

In another collision between a truck and a number of cars on the Western Ring Road, Keilor East on Wednesday, a woman in her 50s was trapped in her car for 45 minutes.

Paramedics were called just before 8.30am to the site inbound towards Altona, near the Calder Freeway.

The woman has been taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.

Three other people treated by paramedics have been taken to Sunshine hospital with minor injuries.
