Kings Park woman left shaken as two thieves gain entry into her home

A Kings Park woman has been left shaken after two men forced entry into her home on Monday night.

The men entered through the front door of the Edale Close home about 11pm.

The men went through the home and stole a number of items while also making demands for money.

The home’s alarm scared the offenders off, and police believe they ran out the front door.

The woman, aged in her 50s, was home alone at the time and was not harmed during the incident.

Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance with their investigation.

One of the men has been described as being in his 20s, quite tall and having a medium build. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper.

The second man was wearing a black hooded jumper.

Detective Senior Constable Kara Brockwell told Star Weekly that police believed the incident was isolated and the victim and offenders are not known to each other.

“[The victim] is quite shaken up,” Detective Senior Constable Brockwell said.

“It’s something scary that we don’t want anyone to have to go through,” she said.

“We want the community to be aware that we’re investigating and it’s something we’re taking very seriously.”

Police are also investigating CCTV footage from a neighbouring home.
