Cyclist charged with dealing
A Keilor Park man has been charged with dealing drugs from his pushbike. Brimbank detectives arrested 22-year-old Benjamin Kennedy at a Biak Court house on May 14 after cash, cannabis, and allegedly stolen goods, including a motorcycle, two roadracing bikes and several electronic devices, were found at the property. Kennedy was charged with trafficking and possessing cannabis, dealing with proceeds of crime, handling stolen goods and various bail offences. He was remanded in custody and appeared at Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Makeover starts
New footpaths and street lights, a raised pedestrian crossing and a sculptural seating wall are to be installed as part of the Hampshire Road master plan. The makeover will cost the council $1,180,000, with $200,000 coming from the Victorian government’s community infrastructure fund.
Wheels turn for hub plan
Cyclists are being encouraged to have their say at a community consultation meeting about the proposed Ardeer Green Activity Hub at Forrest Street Reserve on May 23. The Activity Hub is estimated to cost $4.6 million and could include a criterium circuit, a cross-country mountain bike circuit, a recreational BMX track, dirt jumps, a cycling education centre and significant tree planting and landscaping.
