A puppy has died after receiving lethal injuries at a St Albans home earlier this week.
The RSPCA and police executed a search warrant at the St Albans South property today following the death of the four-month-old Staffordshire terrier puppy.
A spokeswoman from the RSPCA said the puppy died while receiving treatment for its injuries after being taken to a vet by a “good Samaritan”.
She said the puppy sustained multiple broken bones and trauma-related injuries.
The search warrant with executed on Friday morning.
Brimbank CIU and the RSPCA are investigating the incident.
Significant trauma
RSPCA Victoria inspectorate manager Allie Jalbert urged St Albans residents who live in the street or people who were in the area on Tuesday who may have witnesses or heard something to come forward and assist with their investigations.
“This poor puppy suffered significant trauma before its death and we are pleading for the public’s help to catch the person responsible,” said Ms Jalbert.
“We would strongly encourage anyone who has information about this incident to come forward and contact either RSPCA or Crime Stoppers.”
