Brimbank green thumbs are being encouraged to help Friends of Maribyrnong Valley and Brimbank council plant 1000 trees and shrubs across the region.

Community planting days will be held in Sunshine West and Keilor.

A session, to be held at the Caroline Chisholm Reserve in Keilor on May 29, will be followed by a sausage sizzle, while native wildlife from Animals of Oz will be on hand at the Buckingham Reserve planting in Sunshine West on June 5, which is World Environment Day.

Both sessions will run from 10am-noon. Remember to bring gardening gloves, a water bottle, sturdy shoes, long trousers, long-sleeve top and a hat.
