Council to consider gun shop application

Plans for a Tullamarine gun shop storing up to 100 firearms are being considered by Brimbank council.

The firearms and outdoor sports goods store, planned for an existing warehouse in Assembly Drive, would also stock about 300 boxes of ammunition.

The applicant, Fallon Hall Pty Ltd Gun Emporium, is relocating from its Ovata Drive location in Tullamarine. The business would assemble and repair firearms but none would be tested on site.

“We do not as a part of our business test firearms,” the application states. “Firearms have already been tested prior to us purchasing from suppliers.”

CCTV cameras would be installed inside and outside the business while a safe room would be equipped with motion sensors.
