A long-time Keilor Park dance studio will celebrate its 25th birthday by interpreting one of Disney’s favourite productions while honouring a family member lost to cancer.
Romina’s Dance Studio will stage its own version of High School Music at the National Theatre in St Kilda on July 24.
Studio founder Romina Di Sauro said it wasn’t easy to win the rights to produce the show or to win a place in the cast.
“We held auditions and more than 100 talented kids applied; 26 got selected,” she said.
All money raised from the show will be donated to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation. Cancer is a health issue close to Romina’s heart after she lost her sister, aged 38, to stomach cancer last year.
Tickets for the show go on sale in early June.
