The power of youth evident on stage

Youth ruled at Brimbank last week at a series of musical events to celebrate National Youth Week, organised and run by young residents.

One of the highlights was the Deer Park Youth Festival last Thursday, which was put together by 15 young residents and Brimbank Youth Services.

It featured performances by artists and groups with connections to Deer Park, plus an open mic session.

On April 8, Sole Movement – Walk In My Shoes was held at Albion’s Montanasa Studios.

It included music and performances from artists of migrant and refugee backgrounds, including Culture Queenz, the Westside Pasifika Dancers, Young Masters and The Movement.

The event was designed and developed, staged and managed by more than 50 youngsters from Brimbank.
