Driver caught doing 200km/h in 80 zone

A Werribee man faces a string of traffic offences after being caught driving 120 kilometres over the speed limit in Rockbank.

Melton police intercepted the 21-year-old driver, and impounded his 2015 Volkswagen Golf, after he was caught doing around 200 km/h in an 80km/h zone on Neale Road, about 12.30pm on Wednesday.

Neale Road is narrow stretch of road that runs from the northern end of Hopkins Road into Rockbank Middle Road at Caroline Springs.

The driver will be charged on summons with dangerous speeding and other traffic offences.
