St Albans car fire damages garage

A car fire spread to a garage at a St Albans property on Sunday morning.

Fire Rescue Victoria crews were called to a West Esplanade property about 5.20am after receiving several reports of a car on fire.

The car was well alight when crews arrived and had spread to a garage, which was connected to a house.

The family had safely evacuated the property.

The fire was put out within 30 minutes of the first call.

It’s unknown if the house was damaged. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
